Sarawak is rich in her cultural heritage and one of the popular dances is called  Zapin.  But not many of us are aware of its origin and the different versions of Zapin Sarawak. The Malays, the Melanaus and few Kedayans have been introduced to zapin, when they embraced Islam.  Most of the Zapin have similar characteristic/traits  but differnt in their steps. When a zapin is being performed one has yet to be identified  the particular zapin.  At this juncture, there are five versions of Zapin Sarawak, namely the Kuching Version, the Simanggang Version, the Sindang Version, the Sebat Version and Saratok Version. .....
